Can't access IDX on Safari even with all cookies allowed and preventing cross-site cookies disabled

I was attempting to connect to IDX through Safari (18.0) but got “Project IDX can’t load because third-party cookies are disabled” even though I disabled preventing cross-site cookies. I tried Google Chrome and other browsers, and all of them work well.

Thanks for flagging this. We are working through a longer-term fix for the 3rd party cookies issue. It is a large-ish amount of work, so we won’t see any updates here for a bit.

In the interim, can you share your exact Safari version? Is it on the stable channel, or are you running an experimental version on Safari?

On ipad, it doesn’t work with safari also, but neither it work with Google Chrome & Firefox. (Even with blocking cookies disabled)

Thanks for your reply! I’m using Safari 18.0 (20619.1.20.11.1) on macOS Sequoia Beta 2. However, I tested on macOS Ventura and it didn’t work either. My Safari version is on the stable channel.

I tested with other browsers (Chromium and non-Chromium) and all of them worked. Maybe only Safari failed.

i’m also testing from macos sequoia beta4 and visionOS beta4, exactly the same issues with safari on both devices, it works for other browsers (tested opera and chrome)

Will the solution remove the requirement for 3rd party cookies altogether? I don’t use any services that require 3rd party cookies, this is something that’s a deal-breaker for me.

In the medium-term, yes - we would anticipate you not needing to change any cookie-related settings to access IDX.

In the short term, we are looking for ways to allow you to access IDX while we are working on the 3p cookie issues.

Hello, it seems to work on my safari on ipad, but since I have install it as a pwa(with safari), it stopped working. How can I deal with this problem?

Close Safari completely and then reopen it.
After doing this, I was able to access IDX without any issues.
