I already have access to IDX and use the Gemini there. So do I still need the Gemini Code Assist extension - the one offered with a freemium tier?
Both Code Assist and IDX’s AI is powered by Gemini 2.0. You can use both and let us know which one you prefer 
You definitely don’t need to use Code Assist unless there are some features there that you like.

When I try to use code assist it asks me to authenticate via a URL which regenerates a token and I need to paste it in the terminal. I paste it and it always says invalid grant… Basically it says Enter Authorization code and source the python vent. Not Sure wheree I need to paste it
