Accessing profiles created in other IDX workspaces

Hello!

I’m very new here so sorry for not understanding, but is there any concept of a “global profile” that is shared across different workspaces, or any way of accessing profiles created in other workspaces?

I find that I want a profile for things that are common to “the way I work” not “the respository I’m in”:

  • word wrap
  • move the sidebar to the right
  • etc.

It’s a bit of friction to set this up for every project I open.

Am I missing a way to access the profiles I’ve already created, or configure some settings globally?

Hi @sarah11918 - that is great feedback. We don’t support something like that…yet. Maybe @Prakhar or @romannurik may have some thoughts on how to pull this off until we support this better in the future.

Yeah unfortunately we don’t have a great workaround for this today (since “user” settings today are stored in an IndexedDB, not in a file, they’re particularly challenging to sync across IDX workspaces). We are working on a solution to this though!
