How to install odoo 16 in project idx ?
This would likely require you to make changes to your dev.nix. Have you explored that path?

Wait for installing python packages for Odoo, and then open the preview in an external tab, currently the VSCode Web Preview is broken with Odoo.
Downgrade your Python Extension, to make it work, for now.
Said all that, you’re ready for using Odoo on IDX. If you find any issues or suggestions about the template, lemme know it! 
@kirupa – once created the odoo database on web preview, it says “refused to connect.” for some reason, it works normal in an external tab though. Why that happens?
