Safari on iPad cookie issue

Hello!

I was wandering if anybody found any kind of a workaround for the Safari on iPad cookies issue?

Thanks

What version of iOS are you on? On my iPad running iOS 17.5, the following worked for me:

  • Open the iOS Settings (gear icon)

  • Scroll and select Safari, or swipe down to use the search field

  • Disable the Allow Cross-Website Tracking slider

  • Disable the Block All Cookies slider

Does the above work for you as well if you are on a supported iOS version?

Cheers,
Kirupa

iPad OS 18 beta 3, maybe it’s some kind of a bug in the new Safari…

I have the same issue with iOS 18

Ah! There may be some changes in iOS 18. We’ll take a look at this in the near future as iOS 18 gets closer to stable.

For anyone having the same issue:

I was able to restore full functionality on iPadOS 18.1 beta 2 or iPadOS 18 beta 5 by using distraction control in Safari. Simply open the hide items from the menu on top and hide the whole cookies error window. As you do so, you will be able to see and use everything normally, which begs the question - why are third party cookies even needed if I can still use everything without any issues? Maybe I have third party cookies enabled actually (which I do, but it says that I don’t)… So to me it seems like it either doesn’t understand that I have cookies enabled, or Safari is no longer properly reporting the status of it, or something like that…

But anyway, just wanted to shine some light on a workaround for the issue.

Thanks for this investigation @OpenSource. I’ll flag this for our team to look at and possibly revise our docs and detection logic.

Wow it works thanks !
