Which version of Gemini is IDX using for in-code assistance?

Is IDX using Gemini 1.0? If yes, is there any plan to update to 1.5? Is there a way for users that pay for Gemini 1.5 pro to use that?

@ali shared an update on this last month:

I’ll defer to either him or @ksat to share more details here

@Achilleas_Tsoumitas are there specifics of Gemini 1.5 Pro’s capability that is of interest to you?

Bigger numbers are always better, right?
The thing is that Gemini autocomplete in IDX is kinda weak compared to Github copilot and hoping that 1.5 can improve that.

I’ve been using 1.5 pro, side by side with the one in idx.
I’ve noticed 1.5 being faster of course, a bit more stable, less forgetful, and an ability to modify the response is a plus. And I got access to 1.5 so, I might as well use it. :
But the one in idx is still good.
I notice in 1.5 share/export, Replit on the list, any chance getting idx on the list too?
Or an option for using 1.5 inside idx?

Hey there,
Any timeline as to when Gemini pro would be implemented? The basic Gemini really doesn’t make it. I hope it will be aware of the file tree so it writes relevant code.
Looking forward to it… in Sept? :grinning:
